Greetings one and all.......
We're contemplating flying Air Tran from Milwaukee (MKE) to LAS in early November.
They have some good rates posted on their web site.
Does anyone have any experience flying with them? We'd be interested in your comments/thoughts.
Thanks!
Jeff

yes, i have flown minneaplois to ft lauderdale round trip, and minneapolis to ft myers round trip.
thouroghly enjoyed it. stewardesses who actually seemed friendly and enjoyed their jobs, not the bitter ones you find with northwest.
we were able to upgrade to 1st class for $50 each on the ft lauderdale trip last april.

Signboy....
Is the $50 upgrade to 1st class a usual or customary option with Air Tran? Did you ask for the upgrade at check-in or upon booking?
I must say, this is an intriquing option!

from what i've learned since last april, it is a first come first serve on check-in at the airport (this according to my cousin who has flown air tran minneaplois-ft myers a ton of times). truth be told we would definately be flying air tran instead of midwest next april, but we've got free tickets on midwet we have to use or lose.

Air Tran is better than SouthWest, but not as good as Jet Blue. That is my opinion, your air mileage may vary

I know this is an old post, but I just watned to add that my aunt took Airtran on the return from Vegas, and she really liked it. I notice their prices are way less than Midwest also.

We just booked Indy to Vegas for Oct... 84.00 pp each way. Not sure how they can do it with the fuel price.

This is a joke right? Thought AIR TRAN tanked months ago. Something about losing a key military contract...

Different airline...that was ATA that tanked.

Checked AirTran today from Indy to LAS for October 29 to November 2: $84 outbound, $144 return (on a Sunday). Might just have to drive to Indy....

How long a drive is it? (I don't have a map up here). Going for fall meet / Halloween?

The drive is about 2 hours to the airport, if traffic is bad. And, it usually is.
I was just checking arbitrary dates for the fall, since the Fall Meet discussion died off.

No complaints, like the business class seats, flew out of Atlanta and it was the quickest take off, meaning didn't have to be plane number 120 lining up for take off.
Service was good.
