Arghhh! I have played in Ultimate Bets freerolls a lot. I have been in the top 30, out of 3 to 5 thousand entrants seven times. This feat earns you entry into a weekly freeroll with a $1000 prize pool. This tourney USE to be on Sundays. I earned a spot, and tried to play on a Sunday awhile back. Well, now they are on Saturday, so I had missed my chance already.
Then today I was all ready to play at 12:30. Shit! It started at 12:15, and it wouldn't let me sit down late. Shit!!! My day is ruined!

I played in one today with 3,000 other people.
I came in 3rd. I won $6. I also qualified for the tournament next Saturday.
BUT, I'm going to be out of town, and won't be able to play.
Again.

I'm going to Oklahoma to see my mom. I don't think she would appreciate me playing online poker for four hours during our visit!

I think I need to update the program as I haven't played in a while. But I will load it up and just use your screen name and password on Saturday. I will spend the week practicing and getting back into the online freeroll groove.

Okie Dokie.
I get half of anything you win. Fair? It's $1000 prize pool. It starts at 1:15 EDT. Be on the site 30 minutes before. The winner probably gets around $200.
Just enter the freeroll tourneys to practice. The start at 15 minutes past the hour almost every hour.
I'll pm the info on Wednesday.

You might win your own entry.
Tell me if you do.
I've turned my $6 into $7 already, just at the ring game tables.

This crazy freeroll play is taking some getting used to!
Big Tip
Aug 11 2008, 05:27 PM
Yes, it is a little different, very much so at the beginning of the tournaments. Usually someone will go all in for the first two or three hands. If you have a pair of anything, go all in too. The all in guys are going all in with anything usually, so even a moderate hand will be stronger than theirs.
After about an hour, it gets to be very normal play. People have already invested an hour of their time, so they have at least that, to lose. They don't want to "waste" that hour by doing stupid things (all in with nothing). Sometimes though, I think people just have to leave, and even after a couple of hours, all of a sudden they start being stupid.
The Saturday tournament will be much more normal from the beginning, as people realize it is not easy to get in.

Well, it didn't seat me/you. Your name didn't appear in the players list. Your name would have been between bigslickga and bigtomshark.
Maybe you unregistered at some point? I don't know.

Obviously I am destined to NEVER play in this friggin thing.
I haven't a clue as to why it didn't work.
Thanks for not using up my $5.40 balance!

I have $34 'pending bonus dollars' and nary a clue how to use them.
See you at the final table of the 11:15am tourney!

You earn those bonus dollars as you play at cash games. I'm not sure at what rate, but it's something like getting $1 for every $100 wagered.
What is your screen name?

Donk!
I see you signed in for the 12:15. I'm going to kick yer butt!
Have you ever put real cash in UB before? I wonder how you got bonus dollars. I've put some money into Poker Stars, so I know that you can these days.
I get a lot of entertainment value out of the little 1-2 cent tables I play at, or the $1 tournaments.

I bet you thought you were the cock of the walk with Jacks full of Sixes.

Crushed! I hate that feeling you get when the other player shows his four of a kind!

I just won entry into my first $2,000 freeroll at Poker Stars. It's going to be Sunday, and I am available then.
This one was a NL Hold'em.
12,000 entries. Yes, I said 12 thousand.
The top 99 win entry.
It was a real turbo though. Only took 2 1/2 hours.
I had 1.5 million in chips, level 29. The antes were $12,000, blinds $100,000/$50,000.
Ended up coming in 6th. I hope I do that well Sunday.

You can save your freeroll entries at Poker Stars for any weekend tournament that's convinient. They don't expire.

YES! I found that out when I registered for it Saturday night. They ask for my "ticket". So I decided to golf with my group today, so I unregistered, saving my "ticket". I like that feature. Much better than Ultimate Bets must play tournament system.

The only reason I keep posting this stuff is for you poker players that are NOT doing this free online stuff to do so. I just have such a good time with it. Of course usually I am able to do work while I'm doing it. These tournaments ARE time consuming.
Anyway, yesterday I finished in the money in two tournaments at Full Tilt. 2,700 people. The top 27 win money. 1st wins $15. I won two dollars twice, barely making it once, and finishing 13th in the other one.

FINALLY qualified for an Ultimate Bet $1000 freeroll AND was actually able to play in it, AND had no technical glitch that allowed me to play.
I finished 15th (out of 2,100) and won $7.50! The winner won $250.00
It was fun. I was in last place, or close to it, with 150 people left and pretty much stayed in last place until the end. I just kept going all in at the right time to scare off everyone, or getting lucky when I did play.
Now how best to turn my $11 that I have in my account, into $10000! That's $11 AMERICAN money folks! With nothing risked. Cool deal.
