it's still too early for me to book. airfare is very high right now.

I'll still most likely be there but it will depend on if I can get the time off of work really. One of my friends just set their wedding date for 2 weeks after this so I'm going to need to get some time off then as well it looks like. I'll hopefully get the time off sorted out this week or next.

Maybe I'll just take my sabbatical to span both dates

We have to get thru Christmas first before we can afford anything extra.

I booked a room "just to have something" but my aunts are talking about Oregon in May/June. I'd love to book air, it is $244 incl. taxes & luggage fee, and I don't really want to go anywhere May/June as that's my gardening time, but I have to wait & see if that pans out.

I don't know Pea, sounds like you waffle. Depending on when you leave Vegas, you would be home on the 3rd or 4th of May. That's plenty early for you to do your gardening. Your Aunts are talking about Oregon, does that mean you'd go too?

Hope you get a flight Mikey. From Tucson Southwest doesn't have big sales to Vegas. If anything they fill up the cheapest "internet" fare really quick. That's why I was thinking of booking my flight.

It's complicated! We've been talking about Oregon for 5 years but somebody dies or is hurt. They brought it up again a couple weeks ago & it sounds like a less hectic trip than in the past. I would rather go to Oregon in the fall though, then I would go to Vegas in April. JLo - are there flowers in the fall? They are eyeing a Rose Festival which is June 5. I would go with - Rosie is nearing the magic death age in the family so I want to spend as much time with them. We're going on a trip in Feb. so if we went to Oregon I couldn't or wouldn't want to also go to Vegas. And stuff would freeze if I planted it in early May ('cept for Peas) - don't you remember the Midwest weather?

Who is definately booked and planning to go in April?

As soon as I started looking for a TV, the aunts said they want to go to Oregon in the fall so I could possibly go in April, however I'm just a Maybe as I'd try to use FF miles, plus I'm having some work done on the house.

I'm looking at Wednesday to Monday myself. Mainly because flying out on Sunday is hella expensive... Also looking Tuesday to Sun though. I don't know if I could miss Saturday night there and fly out Saturday..

So just to be safe, I booked off the Tuesday to the Monday... Now to find air and hotel.

We would like to come, we have friends that winter in AZ so we may go see them. I'm trying to get Leon to understand that we can do both trips. So for now, we are just "maybes"

Kathy, we are in the planning stages now. Our friends winter in the Tombstone and Safford areas, but we know people in the Phoenix area too. Possibly checking out Sedona and Grand Canyon. But we may do that from Vegas sometime. What area do you live in?

Northwest is having a flight sale from Green Bay, I don't know where else. Flights are reasonable but not super cheap. It's time for me to start acting like a stereotypical woman and start nagging Leon for both trips.

Airfares actually seems really cheap right now on the Canadian carriers. Vancouver to Vegas for $79 canadian. After taxes, roundtrip comes to just over $300 canadian. I don't think I've seen a fare that cheap in years.

I've been paying closer to $400US but that's for the flights I want rather than the cheapest ones

The hotel rates are holding me back right now. PH wants $300 a night for the Fri/Sat which is just rediculous and Harrahs has only sent me offers to the end of February.

What days is everyone looking at? BT asked before but I think I was the only one that actually put in dates/days.

I am looking at the exact same dates, Thursday-Sunday. Just started looking at rates and leaning towards Harrahs at the moment, but I haven't booked anything yet.

I was just checking Harrah's as well. 6 nights for $480 for a Premium room doesn't seem too bad? Apparently the points I got last time actually make a difference since it's a little cheaper when I'm logged in versus not logged in.

airfare is dirt cheap and rooms are free, but I think its looking very bad for this meet for me, unless somthing turns arournd here and either I get a second job, or someone else does its not happening, but Im still getting the second job, so that makes time off even harder

Skunk and I have some stuff to get out of the way in the next month or so (taxes, etc), before we can get into the planning stages. We're most likely coming though....it'll be our 2 year anniversary trip (may 2nd)...so it's a very good excuse to go.

Also...talked to my brother and sis-in-law yesterday. They are wanting to come along (it'll be their first anniversary April 27th), and her boss, his girlfriend, his sister and brother in law are all wanting to come too. This might shape up to be a pretty good crowd coming from NC.
A side note...when I was in high school, I worked for the same guy my sis-in-law works for now....and if he and his crew party now like they partied then.......ohhhh boy....good times.
