Full Version: Wet/dry shaver

Since I hadn't played golf in about 6 months, I figured I should hit the range before playing in a couple of weeks. I took a wedge, 9 and 8 irons over to Angel Park just to get the motion down again. $10 for a bucket of balls! Won't be going back there. It was also mats only and the mats were on cement. Fuck that. Though, I was happy with my rusty swing. Afterward, I went over to the Sun Coast to pick up my NFL pick'em cards for Sunday. I put my players card in a machine to see if I had some free play on it and it said I needed to get a new one. I haven't really gambled since June other than the meet. While getting my players card I saw that they were giving away wet/dry shavers for 499 points accumulated in one day. Why not. So I was walking over toward a bank of machines I have had luck on in the past when I saw a friend from the dog park playing VP. I chatted her up for a couple of minutes and decided to play next to her. The first twenty I put in played my points up to about 150. Well, after that each twenty was netting me about 60 to 90 points. Ugh! If I was by myself I would have left after the third twenty, but we were chatting and what not so I kept plugging away. After $100 in I still needed about 100 points for my wet/dry shaver. Ugh! My last twenty apparently was not good enough for this machine as it would not take it. Or maybe it was trying to tell me something... hmmm... So my friend swapped twenties with me and I made one more run for it. I hadn't hit four of a kind yet so I knew it was due. Sure enough, I get four sixes. Yeah! I was close to my 499 points needed for the wet/dry shaver and I knew 499 was coming soon! While playing and contemplating whether or not to cut my losses after I reach 499 for my wet/dry shaver......

I kept plugging away at it to see if another royal was coming and played for quite awhile before getting back down to $1000. A couple four of a kinds and full houses is all it would give me. After getting back down to $1000 I cashed my ticket in went back and gave her a c-note. It wouldn't have happened without her. 7.gif

Dude,

This is by far your best post ever. (IMO) 7.gif

I emphatically agree with everything you say in the quote above.

Can I buy you a beer at the Meat? smile.gif

Scooby that is great! 7.gif How nice of you to give your friend $100.00. Next meet play next to me, I'll swap twenties with you. cool.gif

BTW my friend Alice plays at the Sun Coast all the time. I'll be going there in Jan. with her, hope I find a lucky machine.

That's a nice win. They always seem to happen when you least expect it. Not that I would know anything about that.

Angel Park driving range does suck. Hitting off those rock-hard mats is the worse thing there is for your joints. If you live in that area, next time go to Badlands GC, across the street from Suncoast. They have a nice grass range there and I'm sure they won't charge you 10 bucks for a bucket of balls.

When we're at the Orleans we sometimes go to the range at the LV Golf Club muni course on Washington. It's an OK course (cheap) but it does have a decent driving range. Callaway's on the Strip is nice but you have to walk all the way to the back to use the grass, otherwise it's all mats, which I won't use. I still have shoulder problems from those damn things!! 25.gif

Good for you! 7.gif Otherwise that would have been a pricey shaver! laugh.gif
