We are going out to Vegas for our daugther's 21st birthday. We fly out on Sunday Jul 26 on the early flight on Continental out of Newark. DH and I used our FF miles and Amex reward points to put us in first class out and back (mean I know but hey we are on vacation too.). My Mom, DD and her friend are all back in coach. DD said she didn't care since her friend was with us and they are sitting together.

We have a two bedroom Penthouse suite booked for four of us in the Mirage. Mom has her own room with a strip view. She is staying till 8/3 so she is very happy.

The first night we are there we have dinner reserved for PF Changs as DD said she has never eaten there.

Monday (The birthday day): We have dinner at Joe's Stone Crab (we love stone crab) and reservations for Chippendales (DH will be in the casino).

Tuesday: Reserved as a surprise for DD and her friend Thunder Down Under. She wanted to do and I figure that was fun for them to do alone.

Wednesday: Dinner at Hugo's Cellar and Freemont Street.

DD and her friend also want to go to the Dam. I figure I will book when we get there for Wed or Thursday.

How does that sound.

Yes we are. We have been on lots of vacation though. We went on three cruises, Disney four times and a few trips to AC and Foxwoods.

Well you sure know how to plan a great trip.

Didn't you have the big win playing LIR on that last trip?

Heh, heh, I always upgrade to first class too. I actually haven't flown in coach class in several years.

I always think it's nice to read about the family trips. I hope you all have a wonderful time!

Thanks.

First class is nice on the Vegas trip since the flights are 5 hours plus each way. Our flight is full so it will be nice to not be in the cattle car of coach.

I did win big once in LIR - Had four of a kind with all bets up at the Bellagio. That was on the first day. Great way to start the trip. I think that was in 03 or 04. That was the trip I won just about everything. I remember having a low pair and ending up with either two pair or better a few times. Unfortunately, DH couldn't win at all that trip. I have yet to have a hand pay on a slot machine. That will be next on my list of things to do.

Deb sounds like a great trip to me!!! I'm sure your daughter will be hooked after this trip! I don't know anything about the suites, but I love Mirage. Hope you all have a blast and tell Joan hi!

Thanks. She went out to Vegas with Mom and I in 2003. Of course now she will be old enough to really enjoy all that Vegas has to offer. The suites are nice from what I can see. The price was the best we found for a suite (under $400 a night for a 2 bedroom suite - Those prices have now gone up). I will tell my my mom.

First class is the best with 5 hours + flights. The cattle car is coach is bad for that long. The penthouse is nice not only for size and furnishings but I like the line pass for the dining too for our meals in the Mirage. We like flexible dining there with most meals done on the fly but we have to have a few of the standards like Hugos. We will probably also end up at Grand Luxe for at least one meal.
