Last trip - Last week!
Next trip - Oct 2009??
Hotel - I consider the Fantabulous Imperial Palace to be home, but lately, we have received many offers from various establishments, and wifey likes to check them all out.

We stayed at Harrah's for the Spring Meat. Have stayed there a gazillion times. I've been getting decent comps from them lately, believe it or not! We all know Harrah's - great location, piano bar - Twin-keys, Carnaval Court right next door. Decent race book. Their pool basically sucks, but you do get the sounds from CC right next door. wink.gif

Just stayed at Rio last week. Rio has always been a fun place to stay. Rooms (all suites) are still very good. The pool area is fabulous. Good bar out there, with EXCELLENT drinks.
Great Irish bar in the masquerade village area of the casino, McFadden's. Great Irish Car Bombs, at cheap prices. Cheap beer, good selection. Seafood buffet is the bomb.
Decent race and sports book at Rio. Of course, the Voodoo lounge up on the top floor is a must do. We had a private party up there last week. Too much fun! I never have much luck playing at Rio, however. Stay there, gamble elsewhere.

We stayed at Palazzo last Oct, which I actually really liked. Decent pool area, (you can use either Palazzo or Venetian's pools) Good sports book. Good food. Great rooms.

We also really enjoy Hooters. They have remodeled everything ( a few years ago when it changed from San Remo) The rooms are very nice. The casino is small, but friendly, and offers good gambling. (table games) The bar just inside the front door makes terrific drinks, with Hooters girls tending bar. The pool area is rocking, with great young talent in abundance, an outside bar, and a BBQ area where you can get burgers, dogs etc. Of course, you cannot visit here without stopping to eat some world famous Hooter's Hot Wings. smile.gif

keep getting lower and lower offers but the airfare is insanely high, so it looks like '09 will be the first year i've missed going to vegas at least once a year since '96

Last - late July/09
Next - Apr/10
We have stayed at the Fitz exclusively for the last few years and mainly play downtown. Not a strip fan.
However, we are getting bored and will consider off strip if the price is right. Considering South Point based on Stan's raving about the joint.
We will consider Reno again during the summer of 2010. Had a blast there last trip. smokin.gif

When was you last trip to Vegas?

April 2007

I was laid off my job of 11 years and the day it happened and I was at a bar drinking with some friends to toast my doom and gloom, when one of my best buds suggested I join him and his brother in Vegas to take my mind off. he offered to pay for the airfare and I could crash in their room. The wife was there and said: Go!

With unemployment checks cashed, off I went! laugh.gif

It was a great time! Stayed at Caesar's for the first time. Thanks to the generosity of VG's own SoCalGambler, I stayed in a very nice comped room instead of my buddy's floor!

When is your next trip to Vegas?

A real good chance we'll be going next year at long last.

After going twice a year pre-kids, it's been over 4 years since the wifey's gone.

As Art can attest, she adds to the fun in Vegas!!!! biggrin.gif

Where do you normally stay?

We usually split our time between 2 places; ALWAYS The Hard Rock for a couple nights and then a new hotel each time.

We LOVE The Hard Rock. Good music, great cocktail service (stiff drinks FAST), not so big we can find each other after splitting up, the 24 hour dinner is fun, NOBU is our favorite restaurant, and the POOL is OUTSTANDING!!

Well, it's not like you're gonna be joggin' on the Strip at 3pm.

We're old...and August is one of our favorite times to visit Vegas - cheap room rates and thinning crowds.

Driving in A/C from hotel/casino to hotel/casino & valet parking ain't no big deal.

I agree. I like the heat too!! biggrin.gif

July or August is a good time to go (cheap) and oddly enough, if you dunk in the pool or stay in a/c you aren't hot.. go figure! laugh.gif

Our FAVORITE time to go is Sept though. Warm enough the pools are open, but there is football to watch and gamble on! 7.gif

Hell, we drove thru Death Valley last August so Vegas is actually cool to us that time of year. smokin.gif
