I am looking for opinions of the Sahara pro or con.
Also has anyone seen Sandy Hackett's Rat Pack show there? If so, how was it?
Bobster
One of the few places that I have never visited.
Sorry I can't help you on this one.

Haven't been to the Sahara in a few years, but I hear they've brought back $2 blackjack.

Unfortunately I have never stayed there, but I have gambled there. It's very old school, which I like. One really feels they are in Vegas, not some resort.
Stratoshpere not too far away, but I wouldn't walk around that area. They were very nice in accommodating my step sons, when my husband passed away in Vegas. They gave them each a suite for $49.00
I say go for it and let us know how it was.

I play at the Sahara every time we're in Vegas. I hot my one and only Royal on Video Poker at the main bar there! Good, cheap gambling. Easy to get in and out of - which I like. You can pull up, tip a buck or two at the valet and be inside and gambling in minutes. No long haul to get where you wanna. I like their craps there. Old school guys in the pit that'll help you out.

I saw the Rat Pack show when it started there -- this was in 2000. LOVED IT!! Not sure it's even the same people or same show anymore, but always wanted to see it again.

I hope my old brain isn't feeding me bad memories but it seems like we made a visit there on a buddy trip a few years back to eat at the Nascar Cafe. We had a good time. The casino was definitely old school but that was a lot of fun for us. Other than it being a fun trip, nothing much stands out. Our Nascar following friend enjoyed it a little more than the rest of us but we definitely had fun.

Guess we will give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks for the input.

Never stayed there but same as what others have said. I seem to think that that isn't the best area to walk around in... Rooms are good from what I've heard from friends that have stayed there though.

Do NOT eat the Buffet there. Made that mistake several years ago and paid dearly for it. The Casino is nice, cheap games, good cocktail service, ect... I'm going to see Rick Thomas and the White Tigers there later this Month and was able to upgrade to a VIP with backstage meet and greet and photos with the Tigers for almost nothing!! The Roller Coaster "Speed" is a pure adrenaline rush!

Rick Thomas was one of the first shows I ever saw in Vegas. You'll love it.
