I'm surprised no one has discussed this movie yet. A really good story, although a bit difficult for an unemployed person to watch (Zuke, Marc, take note). They used actual videos of actual unemployed people in the scenes where the people discussed how they felt about losing their jobs.

The opening credits are aerial views taken from a camera which was fixed on the wing of an actual airplane. Usually in movies they use helicopter shots for aerial views but director Reitman wanted higher altitude. The plane had to go into a dive to get the proper camera angle. I was able to recognize my city in one shot, though. I'm pretty sure I also picked out Chicago, with the river and Navy Pier.

I wanted to see it when it was in the theaters. I like Clooney and have enjoyed Jason Reittman's other 2 films (Thank you for not smoking and Juno). But given teh subject matter, I kinda avoided it! We Netflixed it and sitting next to my DVD player. If I get this job, we'll pop it in. laugh.gif

I enjoyed it. Leslie not as much, it does have a few dark moments with giving people the axe.

I thought George Clooney did a fine job. I can relate to the portrayal of the frequent traveler. You tend to get real good at packing light and buzzing through security.

Saw it on my trip to Phoenix, it was pretty good. Felt bad for Clooney at the end.
