Thinking of renting a car for a few days during our March stay. Trying to find out which hotels have car rental agencies in them. I know Dollar has a few places on the strip but cant find any others.

I know that Dollar is located in the Monte Carlo.
Scooby
Flaming O has one (I think Budget) in their main lobby.

go to concierge and have them arrange a rental for you and delivered to hotel.

I have rented a car several times in LV and found that it's usually cheaper to rent at the airport, in advance, with a reservation. For some reason, the rental counters in other spots in town seem to stick it to you. Another thing is, if you are going for several days, it's sometimes cheaper to rent for a week and then just turn it in early if you don't need it the whole time. Also, you can sometimes get a free upgrade if they don't have what you reserved. "Reservation" is a highly misleading term, it's really just a statement of intent on your part and an acknowledgment on the part of the rental company that you want such and such type of a car. It doesn't mean they will actually have it when you get there. So, I rent the cheapest and might get a free upgrade. You can always pay for an upgrade at the airport if you have reserved economy model and they have what you asked for, but you really wanted something larger.

yes, that is a good trick to use. For example, last year, I reserved a compact from dollar. $198 w/tax for 7 days. They didn't have anything available in compact, intermediate, or full size. They allowed me to pick from the Premium lot for the same price. I ended up with a $29,000 Chrysler Pacifica AWD leather, luxury crossover ute. Not bad for the price of a compact. I think this trick works well if you arrive late morning.

Another answer to the original question before I forget: Wynn has Hertz rentals inside the hotel. When I parked in the garage I was drooling over their Infiniti FX35 for an SUV rental cool.gif

Bally's has a Dollar counter in the back by the elevators of the north tower.

We rented a midsize car for our trip to South Padre Island this past week. When we landed at Harlingen, there were no midsize heaps available, so the guy "upgraded" us to a minivan. Jesus, those things suck.
