Anything I should see there? I haven't stayed there before but I'm planning on hanging out at the pool, going to the buffet and that's about it. Is the shark habitat worth seeing?

Any suggestions? Where's the closest place to buy some room beer?

Stayed there myself Mike and the wife and I very much enjoyed it! 7.gif

Pool is a lot of fun. If there is a concert going on at "the beach" there I would highly reccomend catching it. No show going on during our stay, but they were setting up and did some sound checks that looked/sounded just awesome. We were saying how much we'd love to see an act there, outdoors near the wave pool.

You have GOT to try the Border Grill. Incredible food! The fish tacos were outstanding. Actually, everything we had there was spectacular. Nice view overlooking the pools too.

Room beer? Can't recall anything close by, but its been a while. I am sure there is something close.

You should go have a drink at RumJungle during the late afternoon, early eve BEFORE they charge and arm and a leg to get in when it goes full on club/dance mode. The wife and I stopped in about 4pm and no cover and we got to have a drink and still soak up the joint's atmosphere a bit. Very cool place. Wouldn't go during the prime club hours though. Just not a club guy type. Also don't want to pay the outrageous sums it takes to partay with the "beautfiul people". wink.gif

If you want a fun breakfast, check out the House of Blues Gospel breakfast if that's going on while you're staying there. I did the one in the Chicago H.o.B. and loved it! Great food and incredible music.

Maybe you can hook up with Mav and get into the Foundation Room? Hear that is beyond amazing. He's taken some VG'ers there before.

Have a great time man!!

I love Mandalay Bay.

If you haven't been to a big aquarium before where you walk thru surrounded by water, I recommend going to see the sharks. You get to pet a sting ray and the jellyfish tank is amazing. I think if you go later in the day, it's cheaper or there are coupons sometimes. It's a bit pricey at full price. Later in the day, hopefully, there will be less people and especially kids there.

We really liked the Burger Bar in Mandalay Place. We also like the Chocolate Swan. There is a small one at the bottom of the escalator to Mandalay Place and another bigger one next to the Burger Bar.

We actually weren't too impressed with the Border Grill. If you want seafood, go to RM which is next to Forty Deuce. Don't go to the restaurant upstairs, go to the cafe and sit on the "patio". Go later in the evening so you can watch all the cute club girls prance by on their way to Forty Deuce.

We also weren't that impressed with the buffet, but it does have a very nice atmosphere.

Don't forget to go down to the Four Seasons. This sounds silly but use their restroom. It's amazing. And it just smells good walking down the hallways of Four Seasons.

If you want to pamper yourself, go to breakfast at the Verandah Cafe at Four Seasons and ask to sit on the terrace. You may end up sitting close to a celebrity, and the food and service is excellent. You may need reservations if it's a weekend.

Dude, you live in or near Vancouver...don't come to the desert to see fish! biggrin.gif

I took my daughter to the shar reef last sommer during their anniversary with extremely discounted prices and would pass on it if it were free next time. Not that it is a bad exhibit if you live in Manitoba or Austin, but if you have access to other aquariums...pass on this one.

Save the dinero and spend it at RumJungle for dinner. I have eaten there as late as a 9:00PM seating and the 'night club' stuff hadn't started yet. The Fire Pit there is AWESOME!!! 8 to 10 different entrees being served on skewers...all you can pack in. Last time I was there...thanksgiving I think...it was under 40 bones. WELL WORTH IT IMO!!! The bacon wrapped chicken is to die for! Ahhh... be sure to drink a Hurricane or two for me!

There's a small gas station w/ a Mini mart,
on Vegas Blvd.--- for your beer stash ---
It might be closer to The Luxor, however.
.
I walked thru the MBay lobby w/ a plastic grocery bag -
my hair all blow out - sloppy pool clothes --
Security stopped me and asked "do you need help, sir...
where's your room key ?"
( I handed the "Security kid" my bag and said "thanks !" )
I guess I looked "homeless" -- even as a Mbay guest ?

Have to agree with Scooby on this Mike. If you've been to the Vancouver aquarium, there's not much different to see.

Thanks for the info everyone. It turns out the only meal I'll have to get myself will be the dinner on Wednesday night but I may use my own money and try some of your suggestions as far as restaurants.

Thanks and I'll report back at the end of next week smile.gif
